Check this site: http://co.cc
they are giving free .co.cc domains.
they are not just redirections like .co.nr or .tk
You have DNS control

Yes .co.cc is very good! I think they are better then .tk or .co.nr or any other ones!
But I do like .co.nr very good!

co.cc is the best cuz it sounds the most like a real domain and it has DNS control

I have to say that they are very good. I was never terribly impressed with .tk or co.nr, even though I have used co.nr frequently before. Co.cc is a decent extension, and their service is better in my opinion. I would certainly recommend them for someone who can't afford a domain, or are just starting out a site and looking to see if a domain is worth buying.

co.cc just sounds more... Like a real domain. LOL idk why, but co.nr and .tk sound more like subs, probably cuz they have been around longer

Probably to safeguard their brand? Perhaps Yahoo! is willing to pay a $100 for yahoo.co.cc, who knows? :P

Well it's kinda stupid to pay for a sub. plus it costs a hell of alot more than a regular domain! example:
http://www.internetexplorer.co.cc is available One year domain registration for $104
