has been Slashdotted already knows this fact all too well;
if you get a listing on the homepage of Slashdot.com you

your site. It can be somewhat scary.

A similar experience is getting one of your articles

way of quickly drawing in massive traffic to your site.
Sites like PRWeb can deliver targeted traffic very quickly
and efficiently.

Another very effective and high converting venue you should
try is Yahoo! Answers, a simple process where users post
a question and other members/experts offer answers. Used
correctly this can be a good source of targeted traffic.

Don't forget other important search engines such as MSN Live,
traffic from MSN has earned a solid reputation for converting
very well. So optimize your web pages for MSN Live Search and

About the keyword phrases in the urls, this is so true. I learned about it recently. In Wordpress you have to change the structure of the permalinks by going to settings-->permalinks (if I remember correctly).

i agree not massive

It'll be massive once you work hard on it. But if you do it only once or twice, and only halfway, then it won't bemassive. These are really powerful ways to get free traffic.

I do get traffic from some of those sites listed but I wouldn't say alot. But its okay for blogs and such.

there are other more efficient ways of getting traffic such as using your site as a source when answering a question on yahoo answers. but it is a good place to start.
